The Bridge X: A Decade of Automotive Excellence

The 10th edition of The Bridge was held on September 19, 2026 at the historic Bridgehampton Race Circuit in Bridgehampton, NY. Presented by Mercedes-Benz, this year’s event was nothing short of spectacular with an automotive gathering curated for even the most discerning of collectors.

10 years is a significant milestone to achieve. Having had the good fortune of attending every year since the 7th edition, it is safe to say this show will continue to become one of the most well-regarded events on a global scale. As the collector landscape changes, there is no doubt The Bridge will continue to change with it.

For years, people have asked me what the big deal is about The Bridge.  I’m often asked how it compares to Amelia Island, Pebble Beach or even The Quail, and my answer is always the same – It doesn’t.

The Bridge stands on its own as an invitation-only event that is an amalgamation of post-war automobiles and race cars from every generation since to the present.  What truly sets it apart is the location in which it is held, The Bridge Golf Club (nestled on the grounds of the historic Bridgehampton Race Circuit), and the team that assembles it, led by Bob Rubin, Shamin Abas and Jeffrey Einhorn.

In my opinion, The Bridge is truly a one-of-a-kind show.  It doesn’t sell tickets, it doesn’t get bigger, it doesn’t get more crowded, and it is never the same.  It is an evolving show that organically improves upon its previous iteration year after year. It succeeds in this endeavor because of the commitment of the organizers to procure exceptional cars, and of course because an invitation to attend or display is like being invited to the biggest party of the year, you simply can’t say no.

Every year, the show features a very unique grouping of specialty cars. Without a doubt, this year’s grouping was one of the best I’ve seen; A makeshift NYC taxi company lot made up of about a dozen yellow sports cars with taxi signs flanked by a vintage NYC transit bus.  It was quite a sight.

A very very close runner up to the taxi grouping was the grouping of over 15 Ferrari Testarossa models covering every model variant and in a variety of colors. I wish I could tell you the name of every color represented but maybe you can go on a scavenger hunt to find the codes and names using these images for reference.

This year also saw the participation of Ferrari NA with a display of their current product lineup as well as some amazing vintage examples and modern supercars from the marque placed throughout the grounds.

Ferrari has a rich history at the Bridgehampton Racing Circuit dating all the way back to the 1950’s when Luigi Chinetti first imported Ferraris into the US. Ferrari also secured 3 manufacturer wins at the circuit before its permanent closure in 1998.

The Bridge also means an opportunity for a manufacturer to present a brand new car. In the past Czinger, Guntherwerks, Eccentrica, Evoluto and the like have shown their newest and best on the main stage. This year, it was Spyker Cars with their new C8 Preliator XXV Coupe. The car will be limited to 25 individually built units and is powered by a 4 liter twin-turbocharged Audi V8.

Every year I pick a favorite car from the show and it is always a monumental task to widdle around 300 plus cars down to 1.  This year was no exception as there were plenty of cars that spoke to me, including a Tucker Torpedo, a Maserati MC12 and even a Ferrari 250 GT SWB, but the car that spoke the loudest this year was a gorgeous Lamborghini Diablo SV in a configuration I have never seen before. Those of you who know me well know that the Diablo was the car that made me fall in love with cars at the ripe old age of 10.

Such was my regard for this car that I only really took a couple of photos while I spent about an hour speaking to the owner about all the unique features of his car and admiring every detail.  Sometimes it’s best to simply live in the moment without worrying about “capturing” it for posterity.

Capping off the weekend was the Topping Rose House reception. A culinary celebration featuring amazing food amidst a display of terrific cars. Sadly this year weather forced the festivities indoors but the rain made for some nice images all around the lawn.

I am very much looking forward to attending The Bridge XI next year. If you can’t snag an invitation, come back to this page for a recap of the 2027 event. I hope you enjoyed this small recap of The Bridge X. Catch you again next year!
